In 2012 some young Italian doctors got in touch with CMF UK (Christian Medical Fellowship) and then with ICMDA (International Christian Medical and Dental Association).
From there, the desire to connect Christian doctors and medical students in Italy arose, in order to share, encourage each other in serving and in living their own faith in the workplace.
In the following years, various meetings with ICMDA European members and new Italian contacts were organized. In 2014 for the first time in Rome, a European Meeting was held with the participation of a significant number of Italians.
Afterward other conferences took place in Madrid, Rotterdam, Helvoirt and Paris.
Lately, in 2017 the first Italian National Conference of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (later named AMICO) was held.
